I created The 14 Day Experiment because many people have trouble reaching a goal because they focus only on the end result, and not the process it will take to get there. These same people give up too easily and become frustrated when things go off-course, beating themselves up furthering the cycle of self sabatoge. If this has been your experience, you may feel like you don’t have what it takes. You could not be more wrong.
Adopting an experimental mindset frees your mind and allows you to let go of procrastination, performance anxiety and the cycle of defeat. You accept you don't have all the answers and that your journey to success will be a learning experience. Now, failure becomes feedback on how to improve. If an experiment fails, you don’t quit. You don’t give up on your important goals, you simply let go of what isn’t working and do more of what is.
When you first embark on making a change to your diet, schedule, relationship, or budget – it helps to realize that you are working out the kinks in your process. The objective is to figure out what works best for by increasing awareness of your thoughts, feelings and actions related to the attainment of your goal.
Seeing life as an experiment keeps you in right frame of mind to find your way through unforeseen circumstances and generates break-through thinking that sets you free. Adopting an experimental mindset will allow you to enjoy the journey of reaching your goal and accept the reality of what it will really take to make the desired changes in your lifestyle.
